Year 6 - Eagles

Welcome to Eagles Class!

 

In Year 6, we all work hard to ensure that all children reach their potential.  We all believe that children should be able to have fun while meeting the high expectations of the end of Key Stage 2 tests. These take place in May and include reading and maths, as well as spelling, grammar and punctuation.

 

During Spring Term, our topic is 'A Place to Call Home?'  This is based around the text, 'Boy Overboard' by Morris Gleitzman. The children will be learning about refugees, the ancient civilization of Islam and then touching on both Afghanistan and Australia. 

 

 

Years 4, 5 and 6 enjoyed a day of working together creating news reports of the bushfires in Australia.   They researched the causes of the fires, how the firefighters and volunteers are trying to stop them, the effects of climate change and geography, as well as the impact on both the human and wildlife populations.
