HOW TO FIND AND COMPLETE WORK ON GOOGLE CLASSROOM

Learning activities set by your teacher are referred to as 'assignments' on Google Classroom.

> On a PC (laptop/desktop computer):

To find homework tasks or home learning (remote learning) activities, enter the classroom (e.g. Buzzards 2020) and then click on the Classwork tab at the top of the page.

On the Classwork page will be materials (with a bookmark icon) and assignments (with a clipboard icon and a due date). Clicking on these will open up a preview window and the option to view the material or assignment in more detail.

Click on an assignment or material icon to see more detailed instructions in a drop down box.  At the bottom of the drop down box click on View assignment to view and work on the assignment in a new window.

In the Your work box you will find any resources the teacher may have provided to read and support you in completing the task; your teacher may also provide a blank digital document (e.g. a Google Doc or Google Slide) for you to use to complete the task digitally.  You can also upload your own files (documents or photos) by clicking on + Add or create.  If you complete the task offline, you can upload photographs taken of it.

One you have completed the task and uploaded any attachments necessary, click on Turn in to notify the teacher.

> On a mobile device (tablet/smartphone):

Enter the classroom via the Google Classroom app, then click on the Classwork button at the bottom of the page.

Clicking on an assignment or material will open it up to a new page with the instructions on.

To view the attachments or upload files to an assignment, click on the Your Work area at the bottom of the screen.

The new screen will show attached files and the button that allows you to Add attachments (e.g. documents, photos) to Hand in to the teacher.

When an assignment attachment is opened, some basic editing tools will appear at the top of the screen. To begin editing, click on the pencil icon. For more advanced editing tools, click on the share icon (a square with an arrow pointing out of it). This will open the attachment in the appropriate Google app (e.g. Google Docs).
