HOW TO SHARE HOME LEARNING ON GOOGLE CLASSROOM

During the period of school closures when Google Classroom was first used, pupils were able to upload learning they wished to share on the classroom stream.  Now, pupils will share home learning with their teacher through the assignment that their teacher has set.

When setting an assignment, teachers may include a blank file that the pupil can use to complete their work digitally.  Or they may set an assignment to be completed offline on paper, in which case a photo of the learning can be shared with the teacher.

> On a PC (laptop/desktop computer):

When a teacher sets an assignment, pupils will have the option to add:

  • a file from from the pupil's Google Drive area
  • a file saved on the PC the pupil is working on

Pupils can also create:

  • Docs (a document; Google's version of Word)
  • Slides (a presentation; Google's version of Powerpoint)
  • Sheets (a spreadsheet; Google's version of Excel)
  • Drawings or drawing before they hand it in.

A photograph of learning can either be uploaded as a file or can be inserted as a picture in a Doc or Slide.

> On a mobile device (tablet/smartphone):

To add attachments to an assignment, click on the Your Work area at the bottom of the assignment screen.

The new screen will show any files the teacher has already attached and the + Add attachment button that allows you to add your own attachments before you Hand in your work to the teacher.

Pupils will have the option to add:

  • a file from from the pupil's Google Drive area
  • a file saved on the mobile device the pupil is working on
