Term 2

Sparkle and Shine!

Term 3 & 4

Fire! Fire!

Term 5 & 6

We do like to be beside the seaside!

Come and see what children have been up to at home! Lauren has been planting seeds in her garden and Harry decorated an Easter tree.

For our Science topic on materials, pupils tested different materials to see which one was the most suitable for carrying water for The Great Fire of London.

Home Learning

Children need to read to an adult at least 3 times a week. Mrs Clewley will aim to check the reading journals on a Monday to reward stickers and prizes. There is an opportunity for all children to change their book every day. As well as signing in reading journals, children need to get their reading raffles signed for a chance to win a free book! Happy reading!

Homework is given out on a Thursday and is due in the following Monday. Homework in year 2 consists of:

Spellings - Spellings should be practiced every day and we will consist of different spelling patterns each week. Children's spellings are uploaded each week onto spelling shed. Phonics is still taught daily to help with reading and spelling.

Maths or Literacy task - A maths or literacy task is set weekly to reinforce a concept we have been learning in class. Additional Maths tasks are uploaded onto My Maths and Maths shed.
