School Council
The School Council was set up to enable the children here at Salehurst to have a say in the running of their own school. In this way, our children have a greater sense of belonging, become more confident when putting forward ideas and develop a greater understanding of the need to work co-operatively for the good of others.
The School Council is made up of two children elected from each class who meet monthly to discuss ways in which to improve the school. Decisions are then fed back in class and any issues that arise are discussed.
Recent initiatives include: charity fundraising and playground equipment etc.
Here are some quotes from School Council children:
"I believe schools should be happy, so that pupils look forward to school".
"I want to make school more enjoyable for everyone".
"I want to make the school a better place and help children learn".
"I want to make the school a better place for everyone and make it fun".
"I want to help improve school playtimes".
"I want to help make the school a safer place for everyone".
