Year 3 – Kestrels

Welcome to Kestrels Class!

In Year 3 we link our learning to topics. This year our topics are Invader and Settlers (The Romans, Anglo Saxons and Vikings), Africa and The Seaside (including local history). 

In term 3 and 4 our topic is Africa. We will use maps to locate Africa, geological features, countries in Africa, Fairtrade, famous people and compare cities and villages.

In term 1 and 2 our topic was Romans. We looked at who the Romans were, where they came from, why they invaded Britain, food they ate and what they brought to Britain. We enjoyed a Roman day, where we dressed up, ate foods the Romans would have eaten, danced, acted and created. 

Key Information

P.E days are Tuesday and Friday. Please ensure your P.E kit is in school on these days.

Homework is set on a Friday and due in the following Wednesday. Spellings will be tested on a Friday (please encourage your child to practise these at home, this could be using Spelling Shed.)
